Ageing societies are a global phenomenon. The mental wellbeing of our older population is having increasingly significant impacts not only on individuals and families, but also on a broader community and public level. Economic and epidemiological data from western and Chinese societies are pointing to the needs of policy, practice, and public awareness strategies to promote mental wellbeing.

This Symposium brings together world renowned speakers to share latest development in social policy on mental health of older people, sustainable development goals, preventive strategies, and community approaches to promote mental wellbeing in ageing societies. It is part of the capacity building programmes of the “JC JoyAge: Jockey Club Holistic Support Project for Elderly Mental Wellness” initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
